I graduated from Smethport High School in 1960. Went on to Indiana State College, now Indiana University of Pennsylvania graduating in 1964. My first employment was with the Amsterdam City School District in Amsterdam, NY from 1964 to 1967. During that time I married an elementary school teacher, Margaret Cionek in 1965. I obtained my Master of Arts Degree from The College of St. Rose in Albany, NY in 1969.
In 1967 Margaret and I accepted teaching positions with the Smethport Area School District. I taught in the district until December 9, 1996 when I retired. My teaching experiences at Smethport have brought many joys to my life. Margaret and I have two daughters, Jennifer and Katra. Both are married. They live in South Carolina and Virginia. Katra has made us the proud grandparents of our grandson, Tyler, 9. After retirement I worked at Todd Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep and Todd Motors pursuing my lifelong hobby of automobiles. I also collect Lionel Toy Trains. On Valentine's Day, 2002 Margaret and I relocated to Chambersburg, PA. We live in Greenvillage, which is half way between Chambersburg and Shippensburg. We have made many new friends and enjoy what this part of Pennsylvania has to offer.
