After graduation in '78, I attended Olean Business Institute where I completed a one-year medical secretary program. Following my graduation from OBI in May 1979, I went on "vacation" to Houston, Texas and ended up getting a job in the Nuclear Cardiology Lab of The Methodist Hospital. I stayed there for one year, and then returned home to Smethport.
In February, 1981, I married Lee Faes (Class of '74) with whom I had two children, Ranee (Class of 2000) and Dane (class of 2005 ... hopefully!!). Lee and I divorced after 14 years of marriage.
Ranee is currently in her third year of college studying equine sciences at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. Dane is a sophomore at SAHS and is a member of Student Council.
I am currently remarried to Bruce Hale who I met in prison ... working! I have been employed at the Federal Correctional Institution, McKean near the airport in Mount Alton since May 1989. I began as the Associate Warden's Secretary and then moved into the Human Resources department. In June 2001, I was promoted to the position of Human Resource Manager. My husband, Bruce, is a Correctional Officer and we have been married since October, 1996. We have a son, Bryce Allen, who will be 4 in June, 2003.
Bruce, the kids, and I live in my grandparents home near Betula which I bought in 1987 when they moved to Florida. We enjoy sports, hunting, horseback riding, golf, and having fun! We travel as much as we can and have been to Italy, Germany, Caribbean (3 cruises), Puerto Rico, Mexico, and in 37 of the 50 states.
Every day of working at FCI McKean is like having a mini-class reunion as many classmates from the Class of 1978 as well as other years also work there. Some SAHS alumni there include -- Penny Austin Lundgren ('78), Peggy Dennis Mitchell ('78), Rodger Comes ('78), Scott Peterson ('78), Tina Petruzzi ('80), Denise Trumbull Tanner ('80), Brian Burt ('80), Peter Digel ('80), Rosemary Probert-Dean ('74), Lisa Fitzsimmons-McKenna ('84).
