The 1957 Hubber Track Team, after several great years turned in an average season by winning 3 dual meets and losing 1. The Hubber men came in third in the McKean County Meet and second in the District 9 P.I.A.A. Class B Championships. It was the first time in six years that the Hubbers failed to win the District Meet.

The team made a good showing at the DuBois Invitational and at the Olean Relays. After the regular season was over, the boys who had taken either a first or a second at the District 9 Meet went to Penn State University for the P.I.A.A. State Championships. At that meet, Fred Larson proved to be the best miler in the state, winning the race with no trouble in the time of 4:30.5. He also placed second in the half-mile with a time of 2:00.9. Jim Acker, a speedy freshman, took fifth in the half-mile with a time of 2:02.8. Dick Larson placed seventh among the discus throwers. Also competing in the State meet were Chuck Cooper, Bill Ogilvie, and Bob Lathrop.

In the McKean County Meet, Fred Larson set a new record in the 880 Yard Run with a time of 2:03.4. Fred also set records in the mile (4:41.3) and Half-Mile (2:04.6) in the District 9 Meet.
